Global Community Engagement 2015
Every year, all PMI employees in each PMI office are given one paid day to volunteer their time in their community with an organization of their choice.
Here is a sampling of the 2015 community engagement activities for each PMI office.
PMI Employee Farmers Market: products were donated by employees for purchase by employees with all proceeds going to the Treehouse Back to School Drive, helping foster children in Seattle.
PMI Seattle employees doing park restoration work at the Conservation Alliance: Backyard Collective volunteer day.
PMI volunteers working at the ACRS (Asian Counseling Referral Service) Food Bank in the International District, Seattle. ACRS is one of the local organizations PMI Seattle supports with financial donations, product donations and employee volunteer time.
PMI Shanghai employee volunteers planting trees in Haiwan National Forest Park.
PMI Shanghai employees collecting warm clothing to deliver to junior students in QingHai province. A product donation of 200 stainless steel MiGo® water bottles was also sent with the clothing donation.
PMI Shanghai receiving an AiFen Award for planting trees and donating products.
PMI Manila team volunteer day at A Home With No Stairs.
PMI Manila organized and participated in a very special community service. Wanting to directly help the most vulnerable families in the city, they visited two impoverished neighborhoods: Paco and Santa Ana. There, they distributed basic essentials such as food, soap, medicine and some treats for the kids.
PMI Manila donation to ZEDRU, an emergency and disaster rescue unit.
For the third year in a row, the PMI EMEA team was a partner in the Amsterdam Kids Olympics, which engages kids from troubled neighborhoods in sport, teamwork and making healthy lifestyle choices. Hydration points devised and built by Aladdin were a success and piqued the interest of teams from the Olympic Stadium and Amsterdam City Council, which want to discuss new partnership opportunities. Beverage and food containers were also given away to participating kids and their families.
The PMI-Bentonville Team used the proceeds from a sample sale to contribute 50 warm winter coats and warm socks to Sharing & Caring of Benton County’s Holiday Distribution Day. Sharing & Caring will support over 4,000 underprivileged children this holiday season who do not have a warm coat to wear, and many of PMI’s area suppliers have made donations.
PMI-Bentonville volunteered at the Trifest for MS, a 3-day event and fundraiser held over Labor Day weekend that helped raise more than $50,000 for MS research.
PMI-Bentonville donated products that were used to raise funds for the Samaritan Community Center’s Feed the Hungry Campaign.
